Itinerary
Travnik
Our adventure begins with a visit to the charming town of Travnik, often described as a living museum and a paradise for food lovers, especially known for its famous Travnik ćevapi. This town is also the birthplace of the celebrated Yugoslav writer and Nobel Prize winner, Ivo Andrić. As you stroll through Travnik’s cobbled streets, you’ll encounter the enchanting Fort Stari Grad (Old Town), a well-preserved historical site from medieval Bosnia, with strong Ottoman influences. Immersing yourself in this historical landmark, you’ll quickly understand why Travnik is considered a living reflection of Bosnia’s complex past. Beneath the fortress lies a hidden gem—a crystal-clear, drinkable blue water spring. The river flowing through the town adds to its unique character, with charming shops nestled along its banks. Among the many mosques in Bosnia, the Colorful Mosque in Travnik is particularly striking, with its stunning floral decorations and an “unconventional” minaret that captivates both locals and visitors alike.
Jajce
Once a royal city, Jajce has become an open-air museum with 29 national monuments. The star attraction is the magnificent 21-meter Jajce Waterfall, widely regarded as one of the world’s 12 most beautiful waterfalls. Prepare to be mesmerized by the sheer beauty of this natural wonder. Explore the underground catacombs, visit the Bear Tower, and see the church where the last Bosnian king was crowned. Additionally, Jajce is home to a museum dedicated to the fight against Nazism, offering a unique and engaging experience.
Pliva Wooden Watermills
Just when you think the tour can’t get any more magical, we take you to the Pliva Watermills. This picturesque spot feels like it’s been pulled right from the pages of a fairy tale, providing an ideal backdrop for creating lasting memories through your camera. These historic watermills, dating back to the Austro-Hungarian era, blend seamlessly into the surrounding natural beauty. Today, several of these mills are still in operation, grinding grain with the power of the flowing water.
